Educated Basketball Community
“It’s BIGGER than basketball!”
The Educated Basketball Community (EBC) has a mission to operate a youth basketball program that emphasizes academic achievement, social development, leadership, self-discipline and athletic competition. EBC is committed to providing academic support, fostering character skill development and quality athletic training.
We will provide 5th grade through 8th grade student-athletes from urban and suburban communities with academic reinforcement, social emotional skills and basketball skills development in an 8-week summer program. In order to bridge together a community we also intend to involve other successful student athletes and coaches both AFS graduates and non-graduates to share their experiences with our youth. Student athletes will work towards building a supportive community with a group of peers to collectively work towards their individual goals and paths in life. We plan to accomplish these goals by developing athletes in an interest that engages them athletically.
