August 7 - August 11 Cross Country Camp

 

A co-ed cross country camp designed for grades 5-12 held August 7th though 11th. The Abington Friends Cross CountryCamp is open to the first 30 registered male or female middle school and high school students of any ability. Our goal is to give you a great week of training tailored to your ability that will help build the foundation for a great cross country season. You will train with top-tier high school coaches and runners and have access to over 50 miles of wooded trails in Avelthorpe Park, Pennypack Park, and Lorimer Park.

Summer Smiles for over 50 Years

For more than 50 years, Abington Friends Summer Camp has had a proud tradition of creating the smiles and memories that last a lifetime. Even in this time of Covid limitations and best practices, we are confident in our ability to remain true to the philosophy that has been the ethos of our camp for decades: we want children to be happy! We truly believe children find happiness through having fun and making connections.

AFS SUMMER CAMP COVID - 19 GUIDELINES

To mitigate the risk of spreading Covid-19, AFS Summer Camp will implement the following guidelines to the best of its ability. AFS Summer Camp continues to monitor guidance from Montgomery County Department of Health these guidelines may be subject to change depending upon the most recent numbers. 

  • The Summer Programs staff includes our school nurse and we will continually monitor the situation if need be. 

 

PARENT & FAMILY POLICIES

  • Meals should be packaged and brought from home by each camper. The camper’s name should be visible somewhere on the package. A lunch box is considered a package in addition to any other container that keeps food items stored.
     
  • Each camper will be required to bring a personal water bottle labeled with the camper’s name each day. A staff member will assist the camper in refilling the water bottle during the day, if needed.
     
  • Parents must be on alert for any symptoms and should keep any camper with signs of illness home. Campers who have exhibited a fever greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, other respiratory symptoms, or at least two of the following symptoms: chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell, must be fever free for 72 hours prior to arriving to camp. It must also be at least 10 days since any symptoms first appeared.
